I joined 26 other people in the Singing Resistance on Sunday, September 27th to sing on the International Day of Peace.
This is mass movement of singers to protect and care for our communities grounded in love, nonviolence and solidarity. We sing because singing is an antidote to fear, it helps us connect to each other, and through song we can name and protect what we hold sacred.
We sing to build a true multiracial democracy. We sing not only for the world that we want to create, but to create that world in the here and now. Singing with others offers us a path to feeling our grief, fear, connection and power. The embodied experience of singing offers us healing and supports our nervous systems.
The above is a shortened version from What is Singing Resistance.
We will be singing again on October 17th in Sawyer Park. Or join us to rehearse the 3rd Sunday of the Month 2:00 pm at Christ the King church in Sturgeon Bay. This is not a religious gathering, but they are letting us use the church.
