I’ve been writing a Romance Novel. Alice Goes Down Under for a couple of years. I’ve been using Scriverner to organize the chapters. I’m at the end of the first revision. I’ve been sharing it chapter by chapter online with my Round Rock writers group in Texas, and my Write On writers group in Door County Wisconsin. I also have an Aussie friend reading it right now.
Writing is a joy, and a terror. I want to get it right. The story is alive in my mind, I need to make it alive on the page so the readers can see. I don’t write on this blog very often because what I write needs to be worthwhile. Each of these blogs is worth visiting and worth my revisiting. I’m not writing just to fill a page.
The story, you want to know what it’s about. I need to write a synopsis. Horrors, how can one possibly put 47 chapters and 95,000 words into a synopsis. Here’s a hint:
Alice a grieving widow runs away from grief chasing her mother’s past in Australia. Alice doesn’t want to spend her last years living alone, but at 69 how could she possibly find a new partner?
You’ll have to wait until the book come out to answer that question.
